Refund Policy
This policy explains when Checkout Monitor paid subscriptions are eligible for a refund, how to cancel, and how our merchant of record (Paddle) fits in.
1. Overview
We want you to be genuinely happy with Checkout Monitor. If our paid tiers aren't working out for you, you can cancel any time to stop future renewals, and — for your first payment on a new paid subscription — you can request a full refund within 14 days if you're not satisfied.
2. Merchant of record
Our order process is conducted by Paddle, our authorized reseller and merchant of record. When you purchase a paid Checkout Monitor subscription, you purchase it from Paddle, and Checkout Monitor makes the service available to you under our Terms of Service.
Paddle handles the checkout, payment processing, sales tax / VAT collection, and refund payouts. Paddle's Buyer Terms and Refund Policy also apply to your purchase. Where anything in this policy is more generous to you than Paddle's own terms, we'll honour our policy.
3. Free tier
The Free tier is $0 and requires no payment method. There is nothing to refund. You can stop using the Free tier at any time by deleting your account from the dashboard.
4. Paid plans & billing
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. Current pricing is on our pricing page:
- Pro — $19/month
- Agency — $49/month
Each monthly charge covers the upcoming billing period. Paddle emails you a receipt for every charge with a link to manage your subscription.
5. 14-day refund window (first payment)
If you're not satisfied with a new paid subscription, you can request a full refund of your first monthly charge within 14 days of that charge. Just email us at support@checkoutmonitor.app — no need to explain in detail, though we'd love the feedback so we can improve. Once approved, Paddle issues the refund back to your original payment method; the exact timing depends on your bank but typically takes 5–10 business days.
The 14-day window applies once per subscription. If you cancel and later resubscribe on the same account, the window doesn't reset.
6. Renewal charges
Monthly renewal charges after your first period are generally non-refundable — you've had the service for the full period they cover. You can cancel at any time to stop the next renewal (see below). If a renewal charge was clearly a mistake (for example, you cancelled and were still charged), contact us and we'll make it right.
7. Cancelling your subscription
You can cancel a paid subscription at any time and it takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep full access until then, and the next scheduled renewal does not happen. Two ways to cancel:
- In-dashboard. From the Billing section, open the customer portal and cancel — Paddle handles the cancellation immediately.
- From your Paddle receipt. Every Paddle receipt email includes a "manage your subscription" link that lets you cancel without signing in to the dashboard.
Cancelling stops future renewals but is not itself a refund — see the 14-day window above.
8. Requesting a refund
Email support@checkoutmonitor.app from the address on your account and include your Paddle order or receipt reference. We'll reply within two business days. If we approve the refund, Paddle processes the payout back to your original payment method. You can also contact Paddle Buyer Support directly at paddle.net.
9. Chargebacks
Please talk to us first — a quick email to support@checkoutmonitor.app is almost always faster and cleaner than a chargeback, and gets you the same outcome when a refund is warranted. Chargebacks can cause your account to be paused while your bank and Paddle investigate.
10. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any refund or withdrawal rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law (for example, the statutory right of withdrawal for EU and UK consumers). Where those rights would give you more than this policy, they take precedence.
