Terms of Service

Last updated: January 2, 2026Effective: January 2, 2026

These placeholder terms govern your access to and use of the Checkout Monitor website and monitoring service. Replace this copy with your reviewed legal text before publishing.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Checkout Monitor, you agree to these terms. If you are using the service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

2. The service

Checkout Monitor runs scheduled signed WooCommerce Store API test purchases against the stores you connect and notifies you when a checkout step fails. Features vary by plan. We may update, add, or remove features over time.

3. Accounts & eligibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service. In particular, you will not:

  • Monitor stores or endpoints you do not own or have permission to test.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
  • Use the service to violate any law or third-party rights.

5. Store access & testing

By connecting a store, you authorize us to run signed test checkouts using the bot-only test payment gateway installed by the Checkout Monitor companion plugin. That gateway never touches your real payment provider. You are responsible for keeping the plugin installed and the shared secret you configure in the dashboard in sync with what the plugin generated on your WordPress site.

6. Fees & billing

The Free tier is $0 and requires no card. Paid plans (Pro, Agency) are billed in advance on a monthly basis once billing goes live and are non-refundable except where required by law. Fees are based on the plan tier. We may change pricing with prior notice.

7. Free tier & cancellation

The Free tier is available with no card required and no time limit. Paid plans may be cancelled at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you retain access until then. If we ever change the Free-tier limits we will grandfather existing Free-tier accounts at the terms in effect on the day they signed up.

8. Warranties & limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that monitoring will detect every failure or prevent lost sales. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the fees you paid in the prior twelve months (or, for Free-tier accounts, is otherwise limited as set out in these terms).

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or use the service in a way that risks harm to others or to the platform. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction stated in your order form, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction. Questions? Email legal@checkoutmonitor.app.
